AN Easter disco for children aged eight to 12 will take place at Langford Budville Jubilee Hall on Friday, April 17, to raise funds for a local youth work charity.
Organised by In The Mix Project, the event promises a fun and festive evening, offering young people the chance to socialise, dance, and enjoy a safe, supportive environment.
In The Mix Project provides professional youth work support and activities to young people in Wellington, Wiveliscombe, and across the wider county.
The charity runs weekly youth clubs in the Kings Arms Community Hub, in Wellington, on Friday evenings, as well as sessions in Wiveliscombe Youth Club, based in the Hub Centre, on Wednesday evenings.
Nick Harvey, charity manager for In The Mix Project, said: “The disco will be really exciting opportunity for children to dance and have a good time.
“There will be glitter tattoos, glowsticks, and UV lighting.
“Also, our team will be there, so if children need a safe space to speak to a trusted adult that option will be available.”
“We are hoping the disco will bring young people together as well as raise £500 toward a residential trip to Avon Tyrrell Activity Centre.
“We ran an overnight trip there at the end of January which was really successful.
“So, we are looking to run a summer residential at the activity centre for the young people who attend our sessions.”
The disco will run from 6.30 pm to 9 pm, with entry priced at £4.
A tuck shop and merchandise bar will also be available.
To book a place for a child, parents and carers are asked to email [email protected].
