BACK by popular demand, Me The Drag Queen will return to Watchet on Saturday (June 27) to host a Drag on the Quay event at 7.30 pm in the East Quay courtyard.
One of the UK’s top drag artists, Me has performed across Europe and America and is a regular visiting professional at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and course leader at the Soho Theatre Drag and Cabaret Lab.
As the host, producer, and lead mentor of Not Another Drag Competition, Me has helped launch the career of more than 100 of London’s best new and emerging drag artists.
An East Quay spokesperson said: “We are super excited to have Me The Drag Queen return to Watchet to host our third-ever drag show.
“This is a super popular event so arrive early to grab a seat.”
Booking is required in advance at a suggested cost of £5 to £10.
The event will offer practical workshops, including creative writing, drawing, and printmaking, exploring birds, animals, and ecosystems, led by artists Sixto-Juan Zavala and Daniel Baker-Wells.
Work and ideas will be invited for a commissioned banner which will be co-created by LGBT communities across Somerset, Devon, and Dorset, and taken to future Pride parades.
The workshop will take place in a fully accessible venue, with gender-neutral and accessible toilets.
The East Quay spokesperson said: “This event is for the LGBTQIA+ community and friends and anybody interested in exploring nature through a ‘queer' perspective.
“This event is for adults 18-plus.
“Young people between16 and 18 are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult 18-plus.
