A FOUR-hour endurance spin, held in Minehead in memory of Simon Antonelli, raised £1,503 for St Margaret’s Hospice.

Somerset Activity and Sport Partnership (SASP) ran the event in The Beach Hotel’s fitness suite, which allowed use of the studio and its indoor bikes, on January 25.

The four hours were organised in four 50-minute spin sessions with participants being spurred on by upbeat music as well as cake and sweets brought by families, friends and other supporters.

One in three people will need the support of St Margaret’s Hospice in their lifetime. St Margaret’s Hospice is not part of the NHS and relies on support from the public.
