THE Regal Theatre in Minehead needs a special audience - for a joint training exercise with emergency services next Thursday evening (September 21).

At least 100 people, of mixed ability and aged 14 and older, who would normally be in the theatre on a performance night, are being offered free tickets for the exercise.

It will involve an emergency procedure, with a briefing given beforehand, and runs from 6.30pm to 9pm.

The volunteers who run the theatre when a show is being staged will be at their posts on the night, and those not on duty will form part of the audience. 

But a few more “audience members” would help the theatre’s volunteers with training and assist the fire brigade and the other services in their response to any potential incident.

Tickets will be issued on entry but the theatre needs to know numbers in advance, so those wishing to attend are asked to contact the Regal box office on 01643 706430 between 10am and 3pm.
