EMERGENCY work to maintain power for nearly 2,000 homes in Taunton will result in partial closure of a section of the A358 Staplegrove Road from Monday (March 10).
National Grid is carrying out the work and will need a one-way traffic system in place from the Manor Road junction to the roundabout at the Greenway Road junction for a period of up to four weeks.
During the works, traffic coming into Taunton will need to follow a marked diversion route, via Silk Mills Road. Traffic heading out of Taunton can use the A358 as normal.

Somerset Council is liaising with National Grid to minimise disruption and ensure the work is done as quickly as possible. It’s understood the work will take place at least six days a week until 11pm.
Drivers are urged to plan ahead to avoid delays.
