MINEHEAD Middle School pupil Ellie Syner will represent the district in the national finals of a worldwide peace poster competition run by Lions International.
Her hand-drawn image of Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai was judged the winner of the local competition run by members of Minehead and District Lions Club.
Malala who was shot by the Taliban in her homeland for advocating the right of girls to go to school. She became the youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for her human rights work.
Ellie also drew the images of previous Nobel Prize winners on Malala's clothes (pictured).
Her poster competed against other prizewinners from Somerset, Devon and Cornwall to be chosen as the district winner and will now be judged in the national final.
