A FESTIVE design by Watchet youngster Ellie-May Sutton has been winging its way round the world.

The talented eight-year-old, a pupil at the town's Knights Templar First School, produced a Christmas scene that was chosen as the official greetings card of the chairman of the Methodist Plymouth and Exeter District, the Rev Pete Pillinger.

Ellie-May has received a framed copy of the winning design, which features the traditional stable and star.

But in card form, it has been sent to Methodist churches across South West England and other associates around the world.

Mum Tracey said she knew her daughter liked colouring but she never realised she was so talented.

She said Ellie-May's success had taken her father John and eight sisters and brothers by surprise: "We all are very proud of her - she's done so well. The design is lovely."

The card is due to go on display at Ellie-May's school when pupils return from the Christmas break in January.
