IN a departure form tradition, Roadwater Players is offering a circus – a pantomime full of clowns, acrobats, trapeze artists, snake charmers and even an elephant!

Nelly the Elephant runs from Tuesday to Saturday, January 23-27, in Roadwater Village Hall.

Nelly lives in a failing Victorian circus. The Ringmaster is worried that will have to close if he cannot find any decent new acts. Meanwhile, his elder daughter is being courted by a sinister roustabout and his younger daughter wants to be a clown.

A night of colour, chaos and laughter awaits as the circus performers search for fame, success and true love in proper panto fashion. The story is new and untraditional but all the classic elements of pantomime, such as Dame, sing-a-longs and behind-you routine, combine in a night of music, laughter and family fun.

The show begins at 7.30pm; bar opens at 6.45pm. Saturday night has already sold out and tickets for other nights are going fast. They are available from Roadwater Community Shop, Toucan Wholefoods, Minehead and on the Roadwater Players website.
