SPIDERMAN, Superman and a host of other heroes found their way to Timberscombe First School when staff and children held a day of celebration – Superhero Safety Day.
The day ended a week on the theme of safety at the school, with everyone dressing up as superheroes.
There were plenty of superhero related activities in the classroom, with children learning about how they can keep safe, and more about the people who keep them that way.
The children enjoyed special workshops including visits from a paramedic who taught them about first aid; a local police community support officer, and even a visit from a parliament worker.

“It is great fun to be able to bring the curriculum to life and see just how much they progress when learning in this manner on this really important topic of safety.”
Dunster First School, which is a Moorland Federation school along with Timberscombe, also enjoyed a week of learning about safety and their own Superhero Safety day, complete with dressing up.
Naomi Philp, who is head teacher of both schools, said: “It is another example of how Dunster and Timberscombe schools are pooling ideas and sharing resources in order to create exciting and innovative experiences for the pupils.”
