A WASHFORD schoolgirl is “over the moon” after gaining the highest possible grade of A* for her French GCSE – aged only 13.
Freya Jenkinson, of Willow Grove, was a year eight pupil at Minehead Middle School where teachers were so impressed with her ability they suggested she try doing the GCSE for ‘fun’.
She sat the exam alongside West Somerset College students.
Her French teacher Zoe Kurle said: “It was an enormous achievement at such a young age – to get an A* as early as year eight as a non-native speaker is, quite simply, extraordinary!”
