A WASHFORD schoolgirl is “over the moon” after gaining the highest possible grade of A* for her French GCSE – aged only 13.

She sat the exam alongside West Somerset College students.
Her French teacher Zoe Kurle said: “It was an enormous achievement at such a young age – to get an A* as early as year eight as a non-native speaker is, quite simply, extraordinary!”
