PUPILS at Danesfield Middle School, in Williton, have been learning how to build robots as part of a STEM initiative organised through Bournemouth University.

Year seven had the opportunity to build and programme a vehicle around an obstacle course to learn more about the engineering skills involved in basic robotics.

It was part of a wider initiative to encourage schoolchildren to consider further studies in the STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and maths – and to highlight what employment opportunities are available with qualifications in these disciplines.
