WATCHET still remain unbeaten and top of Division Three after their nine wicket away win to bottom club Butleigh.
Once again Watchet won the toss and invited their opponents to bat first, which gives the side confidence as they prefer to chase a total rather than defend one.
Liam Woolgrove struck with two early wickets whilst Andy Milton bowled with no luck again as two easy catches were dropped from his bowling.
Butleigh's main run scorer this year has been Mike Metcalf, and again he top scored with 75 before he was one of Andy Pyne's two victims. Norman Yaw ripped out Butleigh's middle order producing his best bowling figures of the season with 5 wickets for 28 runs from 12 overs.
Butleigh innings closed on 147-9
Butleigh's bowling attack was as weak as their batting and failed to trouble any of the Watchet batsmen, as Rob Yaw and Andy Woodward put on 80 runs for the first wicket in only 18 overs.
Kevin Willis bowled Yaw for 62 which brought in Martin Strong to join Andrew Woodward. They carried on with the quick run rate and by the 28th over Watchet had completed their easiest victory of the season.
Strong finished on 37 and Woodward on 43.
Butleigh: 147-9 (M Metcalf 75, N Yaw 5-28, A Pyne 2-25, L Woolgrove 2-31).
Watchet: 150-1 (R Yaw 62, A Woodward 43 no, M Strong 37 no).
Points: Butleigh 4 Watchet 24.
