MANY local people have been busy knitting poppies to create these two giant ones on the front of Dulverton Town Hall – the setting for several events this weekend to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One.

Trustees of theTown Hall came up with the idea of the giant poppies and trustee Shuna Bland took the lead in encouraging people to get knitting. Shuna ended up with over 2,000 poppies from the local Dulverton community as well as from residents of Winsford and Bridgetown.

Shuna, Christine Dubery, Louise Simon and Gwyneth Jarman then took on the job of attaching all the poppies to create the installation. Knitted bunting with poppies attached to the steps finish off the display.
