FIREFIGHTERS in Dulverton helped spark support for a good cause when they took part in the launch of this year's Poppy Appeal in the town.
Giant poppies were attached to fire engines to mark the part Dulverton hopes to play in reaching this year's national target of raising £36 million to help serving and ex-Armed Forces personnel and their families.
A spokesman for the local branch of the Royal British Legion said house to house collections would begin tomorrow (Saturday), with street collections getting underway on Monday.
The Armistice Day service at the war memorial in Kemps Way will begin at 10.40am on November 11, with a Remembrance service at All Saints Church on November 14, beginning at 10.50am.
Firefighters and Royal British Legion members are pictured at the launch: from the left, Major Kip Gilpin, Jon Snell, Dave Thomas, Rob Partridge, Judy Ernest, Keith Cozens, Frank Gabb, Steve High and Alex Willis.
