THE driver of a car which crashed on the A39 between Minehead and Porlock late on Tuesday night (April 25) suffered possible life-threatening injuries, it was revealed today.
Firefighters from Minehead worked into the early hours of Wednesday using hydraulic cutting equipment to free the man from the wreckage.
The man, who was in his twenties, was then flown to hospital in an air ambulance suffering serious head injuries.
The A39 was closed to traffic while emergency services worked at the scene and it was only opened again on Wednesday morning.

NHS health checks on offer for free through Porlock Community Library Police later arrested another man on suspicion of drug driving. He was subsequently released while remaining under investigation.
An appeal has been made by police for any dashcam footage or any witnesses to the single vehicle crash, which happened just before 11 pm.
A police spokeswoman said: “If you were in the area last night and witnessed the incident, or have dashcam footage which may be relevant to the investigation, please call 101 and provide reference 5223096342 to the call handler.”
