Twice in the last five weeks I have had need to call Wessex Water to clear blocked sewers in Main Road, Carhampton. On both occasions, the blockage was caused by wet wipes.

May I politely point out that wet wipes should never be flushed in the toilet as they are all made from some type of plastic and will not decompose. This applies even to those that are marked as “safe to flush” or “flushable”/
