RESIDENTS and representatives of local organisations and businesses are being invited to attend a meeting intended to bring the community of Minehead together.
The annual town meeting will be held at 7.30 pm on Tuesday (May 19) in Minehead Community Centre, next to the Irnham Road recreation ground.
Although the event is being organised by the town council, it is not a council meeting, rather an occasion for everybody who lives in the parish.
Town clerk Ben Parker said: “This friendly, informal evening is all about bringing people together, offering a chance to hear what is happening across the town, celebrate local successes, and share ideas for the future.
“This is not a town council meeting.
“Instead, it is a meeting for the community itself, open to everybody who lives, works, or plays a part in life in Minehead.”
The evening will be hosted by Minehead Mayor Cllr Craig Palmer, who said: “This is a chance to come together as a community, to celebrate what makes Minehead special, and to have a say in what matters locally.
“It is an open, relaxed evening and everybody is very welcome.
“Residents, community groups, and businesses alike are warmly encouraged to come along and be part of the conversation.”
The evening will include:
● A welcome from the mayor
● Short updates from local groups and organisations
● A celebration of community achievements, including presenting this year’s Royal Horticultiral Society ‘In Your Neighbourhood’ awards
● An open session where people can raise questions and share their thoughts
Light refreshments will be available, providing an opportunity to chat, connect, and catch up with others in the community.
