PORLOCK is looking for a four-legged friend to take a leading role in its Christmas festivities – a donkey!

The village claims the title of The Christmas Capital of Exmoor with its wide range of seasonal events throughout December and its Let’s Light Up Porlock project, which sees fairy lights everywhere and 50 festival trees brightening up the High Street.

But this year the organisers have encountered one major issue – they are short of a donkey to take part in The Living Nativity on Friday, December 10.

“We would be very grateful if anyone could loan a friendly donkey for the evening for this very special event,” said a spokesman for the organisers.
