AN Alcombe resident has issued a plea to the powers-that-be to get what could be a pretty stream at the side of Minehead’s Rose Garden cleaned up.

For the past month, Julie Stokes has walked her dog along the public right of way there and been dismayed at the increasing mess.

“It’s worse each time I go past, with shopping trolleys and bottles there, and it’s all silted up,” she said.

“There are ducks always in the same position as if they can’t move elsewhere. It looks terrible.

“The Rose Garden looks so nice and it’s such a shame the stream is being left to wrack and ruin – it would be so nice if it were cleaned up,” she said.
