OVER £5000 was raised when Minehead-based Cranmers Optometrists joined Somerset Sight to host ‘Dining In The Dark’.

Guests wore eye masks for a three-course meal to get an understanding of the challenges for the many people living with sight loss and blindness.

A charity auction was also held from the evening held at Somerset County Cricket Club.

Kate Webb, from Cranmers Optometrists, said: “Having no sight, even for a short period of time, had a profound effect on how we all communicated with each other and brought home the extreme difficulties people face in every day tasks.”
