WEEK-LONG Summertime celebrations, which ended in Watchet last Saturday with a spectacular fireworks display, were hailed as one of the best yet by residents, visitors, and more than 100 social media posts.
The action-packed week of events, bathed in dazzling sunny weather brought capacity crowds to the town, including at least 1,000 for the traditional fireworks display.

Another highlight was a ‘Parade of Lights’ along the Esplanade led by town crier David Milton.
Summertime chairman Roger Ham said: “Everybody seems to have had a really good time throughout the week.
“Watchet’s wonderful community spirit is the reason why the event is such a success.”
Western Marinas, which is revitalising the town’s marina, reported a record 70 visiting boats for the event.
