MEMORIES of former residents of Williton's Croft House care home were shared by families, friends and staff at a special service.
The tradition of holding remembrance services to mark the lives of residents who have died was started by the home before it relocated from North Croft to its new purpose-built base in Bridge Street.
Croft House supervisor Sharon Watts, who organised the latest event, said it was a chance to remember the people who had shared their lives with the home.
"Each individual is unique with special qualities," said Sharon.
"It's amazing to hear of the lives they have lived, where they worked, time spent during the war and when they married and started a family.
"Staff become very close to residents, building special bonds and friendships and they find it difficult and upsetting when one of them passes away."
The service was conducted by the Rev Bethan Guttridge, associate vicar of Williton, and afterwards families were able to place name plaques in the 'Forget-Me-Not' garden in the grounds of the home.
"The remembrance service enables staff, residents and families to pay their respects and gives precious time to reflect back and remember the times we have spent with them," said Sharon.
"Plus, it's always lovely to spend time with the families again and they are always welcome to visit the garden at any time."
