THE Credit Union collection point in The Avenue Methodist Church, Minehead, will now be open from 10am to 11am on the first Friday of every month following a merger which has created the Somerset Community Credit Union.

There are also offices in Taunton and Bridgwater and regular collection points around Somerset.

The Taunton and West Somerset Credit Union merged with the Bridgwater and District Credit Union in October last year.

Anyone living or working in Somerset can join and, by regularly saving what they can afford, will become eligible for a low-cost loan. All savings are protected, just like a bank, by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Membership application forms can be obtained from the collection point or from the West Somerset Advice Centre in Market House Lane, Minehead.
