AFTER 40 years as a popular health spa, Cedar Falls, at Bishops Lydeard, will not be re-opening in the foreseeable future when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, the owners announced last week.

Owners Richard and Deborah Smith are yet to decide the future of the luxury spa and in the meantime it will revert to being a family home.

In a letter to customers headed ‘A sad day’ they say: “This pandemic has created huge implications for many businesses and has been especially devastating for the hospitality sector.

“It is therefore with great sadness that we are having to inform you that Cedar Falls health spa will not be re-opening for the foreseeable future.

“As many of you are aware, Cedar Falls was a family-run business, and having been in operation since 1981, its closure has been an extremely difficult decision to make.

“The house at present has reverted back to a family home.

“We would like to thank you for your support over the years and we will keep you informed should we decide to re-open in any capacity in the future.”

The letter adds that guests with Cedar Falls voucher will be offered a refund until June 30.
