ELWORTHY Cottage is among those reopening its gates for theNational Garden Scheme on Saturday morning.

Entry is by ticket bought in advance from the NGS website for timed entry in order to manage the number of visitors in gardens at a safe level. The National Garden Scheme raises money for mainly nursing and care charities such as McMillan Nurses and Marie Curie and last year raised over £3 million.

Elworthy Cottage, Elworthy, will be open from 11am to 1pm. The garden is now colourful with summer flowering perennials, many interesting trees and shrubs, a decorative vegetable garden and lots of birds and insects.

No refreshments are available but visitors are welcome to bring a picnic.
