SIR — I understand that it is proposed to remove the running of Dulverton's car parks from our town council.
I wish to protest at this action for the following reasons:
1) The town council has run them well and cost effectively for many years.
2) Local services like this need to be run locally so that they can reflect local needs.

I hope that the authorities can reassure me that this proposed change will be halted.
