Christmas in Yeovil means The Audrey Bartlett Trophy is up for grabs.

Town councillor Audrey Bartlett has sponsored the trophy, which is presented to the household with the most appealing Christmas lights display.

Entries will be judged in the weeks leading up to Christmas by a jury consisting of Mayor Julian Freke and councillors Audrey Bartlett and John Hann.

Mayor Freke said: "Every year more and more people are making the effort to put a smile on their neighbours' faces by taking the time and trouble to put on a special display.

"We would like to recognise all the hard work and expense involved by awarding a trophy to the organisers of the best display."

Entries must come from within the borough of Yeovil town. Nomination forms are available from the town house (01935 382424) and must be returned by Thursday November 12th.
