A HOST of individuals and organisations have worked together to raise almost £2,300 to buy a defibrillator for community use in Timberscombe.
The hi-tech gadget, which is used to provide lifesaving treatment for heart attack victims, has been installed on the outside of the village pub, the Lion Inn.
It was the idea of former parish councillor Stephanie Oliver who has spent the last year raising money and gathering support for the scheme with help from fellow parish councillor Lucie Allison.
The machine is easy to use and gives clear, spoken instructions so no training is needed.

Once in position, the defibrillator detects the heart rhythm and will not deliver a shock unless someone needs it.
