TWO events are being held to help plan Watchet’s Splash Point Pleasure Ground.

The first is a drop-in bring and share community meal to help decide what additions could be made to the public space.

And the second is a workshop for local teenagers and the Watchet Community Makers to co-design a structure along with architect Piers Taylor.

Splash Point Pleasure Ground is a community area on the cliff top that looks out onto the Watchet marina and is managed by Onion Collective CIC, a community-led regeneration company in the town.

The company’s project officer Sally Lowndes said: “We hope lots of people will come along and contribute their ideas and energy into making Splash Point a fantastic place for everyone to enjoy.”

The community meal, which is open to all, will take place from 6 to 8pm on Monday November 13 at The Sanctuary in Swain Street. It is free and people are encouraged to take a dish, but there is no pressure to do so if that is difficult.

Anyone interested in going should email [email protected] or ring 01984 633496.

The workshop, which is being funded by the Somerset Community Foundation and is open to all Watchet teenagers as well as the Watchet Community Makers, will take place on Thursday November 23 from 6 to 9pm at the Phoenix Centre on Watchet’s Esplanade.

Watchet-based teenagers who would like to be involved should email [email protected] or phone/text 07832 137047.
