RESIDENTS of Watchet will have an opportunity to grill their town councillors next week when the annual parish meeting is held.

It takes place at 7 pm on Tuesday (April 14) in Watchet Community Centre, in Doniford Road.

The evening will also include the presentation of the best shop award and the Millington Shield to recognise a local organisation for its community service during the past year.

The annual ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award will also be presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the town and its residents.

The evening also features short presentations from the nominated High Sheriff of Somerset for next year, property investor Nina Coad, who lives in Washford, and Watchet Neighbourhood Plan Advisory Committee chairman Bernice Scott-Field.
