MINEHEAD-based community transport group ATWest have battled through the snow and ice to pick villagers for their regular weekly shopping trip into town.

And grateful passenger Ruth Lawless (pictured) was full of praise for their efforts.

"We were quite worried about not being able to get enough food and didn't think the bus would come. But it did and the driver was so good," she said.
