Perhaps Bridgwater College needs to review its sex equality procedures with regard to studying agriculture to GCSE/BTEC level across its “empire”.

Whilst boys can study agriculture at Brymore - although most Minehead area boys would have to be boarders - this possibility is not open to girls.

The lack of take-up of the subject at West Somerset College is not surprising as it is not even mentioned in the year 9 options booklet.

It is such a pity that all the skills and facilities that the college has built up have been lost due to cuts/asset stripping. My condolences to the staff who have recently lost their jobs.
