LOYALTY paid off for one of Minehead Farmers’ Market’s most regular customers, Colin Harrison, when he won a hamper of goods donated by all the traders.

A draw was held as part of the celebrations on April 1 to mark the first day of independent trading after nearly ten years under the guidance of West Somerset Council.

Each stallholder handed out free tickets to every customer and, by the time the draw was made at 1.30pm by the local postman, there were 650 tickets in the ‘hat’.

On Friday, April 8, Colin, of Luxborough, collected his hamper from market committee chairman Shelley Kift.
