A PHOENIX Centre project has been given a ‘lift’ by the Watchet Co-op - £4,410.62.
The cheque from the Co-Op’s Local Community Fund was presented by Mo Bell and Shane Parker (pictured bottom right) to the trustees of the Watchet Phoenix Centre towards the cost of installing a new lift.
The Phoenix Centre, on The Esplanade, has recently had a major facelift and the support of the Co-op and generosity of local residents has really helped the project.
The Phoenix Centre’s aim is to promote the well being of the elderly by providing a range of day services to improve their quality of life and to assist them to maintain their independence.
It also provides good value for money holidays and day trips and anyone is welcome to participate.
The centre is entirely volunteer-run and is always looking for new volunteers. Anyone interested is invited to drop in to the Phoenix Centre, which is next to the library.
