Over 5,000 people took part in a series of drop-in events and an online survey about how Somerset should tackle climate change - and the results can be downloaded from today.

Now the four district and county councils have drawn up draft plans on their new Climate Emergency Strategy aimed at becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

The key themes are energy, transport, built environment, business and industry, natural environment, farming and food, water, waste and communications.

The strategy outlines what action will be taken under each theme. In addition, some actions are given on how everyone can contribute to Somerset becoming carbon neutral.

It went online today and can be viewed at www.somerset.gov.uk/climate-emergency where there is also a copy of the consultation findings.
