VISITORS to Allerford could be kept busy all day when Victorian Village Christmas event takes place on Saturday.

The award-winning blacksmiths at Allerford Forge will be holding a Christmas themed open day, and the West Somerset Rural Life Museum, the local tearoom and post office are also taking part.

From 10am to 4pm, the blacksmiths will be making and selling a range of Christmas gifts which will be available to purchase from just £5.

Alongside this, craftsmen will be showing a range of their ongoing projects including metal gates and railings being produced for the Royal Courts of Justice.  

The West Somerset Rural Life Museum will be open and decorated with special displays just for this event – and will be switching on the village Christmas tree lights. 

Visitors will also have a chance to walk in the ancient woodlands of Allerford, visit the famous packhorse bridge or enjoy the children’s play area.

Free parking is available at Allerford’s main car park and at the village hall.
