WILLITON company Brook Food Processing is celebrating its 25th anniversary by making a monthly donation to charity – and the first cheque has just been presented.

For every order of £1000 or more, Brook Food will give £25 to its chosen charity for that month, which meant that January’s recipient, St Margaret’s Hospice, received £1525.

Ann Wells, marketing director, presented the cheque to Sadie Ellison and three nurses from the hospice on Monday (February 4).

“It’s an absolute honour to donate this money to St Margaret’s,” said Ann.

“They are all amazing people and doing something wonderful. The care and compassion shown across the services they office to our community is admirable.”

Sadie thanked Brook Food, which is on the Roughmoor Industrial Estate, for choosing St Margaret’s Hospice: “Without the generosity of our loyal supporters, local businesses and the wider community, we simply would not be able to reach the thousands of people across Somerset who need our care and support.”

Brook Food Processing Equipment is a privately owned and family run business, started by Steve Wells in 1994.

A spokesman said: “We want to recognise our special anniversary by giving something back and supporting worthwhile causes and it’s something we are very excited about.

“Brook Food Processing aim to support employees and the community as much as possible, this charitable initiative to mark the anniversary is an opportunity to do this and offer a legacy beyond the bakery world.”
