WILLITON Parish Council is officially opening a new hard-standing area in front of the war memorial on the village’s recreation ground tomorrow (Saturday, October 28).

The dedication service will be conducted by the Rev Tina McDonald at 10am, and the opening will be carried out by Williton Royal British Legion branch chairman Bert Pearson.

It will be followed by a coffee morning in the Parish Office in Killick Way organised by the branch’s women’s section.

Tomorrow is the first day of this year’s annual Poppy Appeal and the legion would welcome people joining them at the two events.

On Friday November 11, a remembrance service will held at the Memorial Ground at 11 am. Tea and coffee will be served in the community building afterwards.
