SIR — I was disappointed to discover last Wednesday that a First bus, service 28, that I had hoped would return me to Williton from the Sampford Brett turn did not arrive and I was obliged to wait until the Webberbus, service 18, was able to pick me up there - just in time to make a connection at 11.30 in Williton to get home.

Seeing that I had prepared in advance which bus I could catch by studying First's timetable, which clearly states from "9.30 onwards buses run every 30 minutes on this route", and was at the stop ten minutes before it was due, I can only assume the timing was not accurate.

I've no quarrel with the drivers - the one on the outward journey was most helpful and courteous - but I wish timetables could be relied upon when making journeys involving more than one bus company.
