CARHAMPTON’S traditional village fete on the Recreation Ground was hailed a stunning success last Saturday with the highest-ever attendance and £2,500 raised for village organisations.
A crowd of over 600 enjoyed a wide variety of attractions including craft and produce stalls, rural crafts, plants, skittles, a coconut shy, refreshments, including a barbecue, bouncy castle, hawk demonstrations, children’s entertainments and guessing the weight of lambs.
West Somerset Morris performed throughout the afternoon and music was provided by a local folk band organised by Judy Mapledoram.
Other attractions included a display of small engines, vintage tractors, a heritage bus and a spectacular display of modern and vintage motorcycles organised by local resident Martin Fletcher.
