SCHOOL caretaker Keith Hunt has some important plans to make during the school holidays, after being chosen as one of the first ever Keep Britain Tidy #Litter Heroes Ambassadors.

Keith, 59, of Bilbrook, who is caretaker at Old Cleeve School, was over the moon to be selected as an ambassador shortly before the end of term, at a special conference at the Palace of Westminster.

Now he is making plans to help children at Old Cleeve to become ‘litter heroes’ and to work with organisations to “make people aware of how important it is to keep our countryside and towns litter-free,” he said.

Keith went to Westminster earlier this year for a lunch to thank him and others for their contribution to the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, and for ‘going above and beyond in caring for the local area’.

While there, he was asked if he would like to become one of 100 people to be selected as ambassadors from around the country.

He was delighted to be chosen, then invited back to Westminster to enrol, find out more about the ambassador role, and undertake training.

“It is a real honour,” said Keith, who is pictured with celebrity ambassador Julia Bradbury.
