Government gives nearly £28 million for Somerset Council to support bus servicesThe public response to this regular event is overwhelmingly positive, as indicated by these comments. “It’s a good opportunity to bring my child along and show him that it’s better to repair something than to throw it away,” said Katherine. “This event is very useful”, said Tim. “People are so friendly, and I come along for the coffee and cake, even if I’ve nothing that needs to be repaired. And I really appreciate the time and effort that the repairers put into it.” “It’s a nice place to come on a Saturday morning,” added Odile. “We’re sure to bump into people we know.”
The repairers were just as enthusiastic. Helen, one of the needlework specialists, said: “I enjoy the company, and people are always very appreciative of what we are able to do for them”, while Paddy, in the electricians’ corner, said: “The work is interesting and very varied – you never know what will come through the door! It’s a pleasure to be helpful.”
The next Repair Café in Wellington is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, July 2, at the same venue.
