The free bus service provided by Hinckley Point C between Minehead and Bridgwater, which was suspended at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, will be back on the road on Monday (December 7), EDF Energy announced this week.

Three services will run from Minehead Parade at 10.10am, 1.55pm and 2.45pm from Monday to Friday. The route will include Carhampton, Blue Anchor, Watchet, Kilve, Holford, Nether Stowey and Stogursey. Passenger numbers will be restricted to 18 and face coverings must be worn.

The service will run until December 18. It will be suspended over Christmas and will start again on January 4.

County councillor Hugh Davies, one of the main instigators of the original service, started in 2017 when Webberbus ceased to operate the route, said: “I am delighted that the service has returned. It is the only public transport link between Minehead and Bridgwater and people in many villages have come to rely on it.”
