CARHAMPTON Community Orchard began its Wildlife Week with a bugs ‘n’ butterflies day, and the next wildlife event is the Moth Watch tomorrow evening (Monday).

It runs from 8.30pm to 10.30pm, when numerous moths will be attracted to the light trap – over 200 species have been identified in the orchard so far.

The wildlife theme continues in the orchard throughout the summer holiday: DIY wildlife activities will be available at all times in the Green Box, and visitors are invited to bring a picnic, explore the wildlife discovery challenges, quizzes and other activities and wander among the apple trees, which are already heavily laden with the first fruits of the season.

The orchard, which is opposite Carhampton Stores, is open every day.
