PORLOCK brothers Chris, Breyon and Sebastian Gibbs have successfully completed a long-awaited sponsored walk along the Coleridge Way - almost a year after their first attempt was halted by an horrific car accident. The trio have already collected £700 in aid of Danesfield Middle School in Williton and Musgrove Park Hospital's paediatric high dependency unit after completing the 36-mile walk at the weekend. They were joined by Emily Webber, Chris' girlfriend, while their mother Ann completed several sections of the walk and dad Paul provided much-needed refreshments along the way. The boys had intended to walk the Coleridge Way 12 months ago and were on their way to the starting point in Nether Stowey when the family car was involved in a head-on collision. The car was written off and the youngest members of the trio - Breyon now aged 14 and Sebastian now 12 - both spent time in Musgrove Park Hospital's high dependency unit, where Sebastian underwent surgery to repair internal damage to his small bowel. Breyon suffered internal bleeding and a fractured vertebrae, while his older brother Chris, aged 23, and his girlfriend were also injured. But with the boys almost fully recovered from their injuries, the group were determined to have another go. Paul said: "It is a wonderful achievement. Ann and I are very proud of the boys. They were talking about trying again a matter of weeks after the accident, while they were still recovering from their injuries. "It has been a hard year for them physically and mentally, achieving what they did on Saturday was a great boost to each of them."
