The combined efforts of three events from Brompton Regis villagers have raised almost £1,400 for CLIC Sargent, a charity which supports young people and their families affected by cancer.
It gave invaluable support to a local family when their teenage son was diagnosed with cancer, and in appreciation, mum Sherry Wade decided to become a volunteer and help out with fundraising.
As a start, she and friend Tina entered a sponsored race for CLIC Sargent.
Meanwhile, local young farmer Robin Fieldhouse undertook to have his much-loved moustache shaved off for the charity.
And in addition, villagers decided the profits from the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Party should also be given in support.
So a formal presentation was made last Wednesday at Brompton Regis Village Hall.
Sherry said: “We received amazing support from CLIC Sargent just at the time we needed it most.
“I wanted to show my gratitude and help them help other families who find themselves in a similar situation.
“I have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from our village”.
