STAFF at Quantock Brewery in Wiveliscombe put on their pink boots – and released a new beer – to celebrate International Women’s Day this week.

The brewery is taking part in the Pink Boots Society Collaboration event alongside many other breweries across the world. To take part, the team had to wear pink boots and brew their own beer.

The chosen beer styles may be different but the purpose is the same – to celebrate the profile of women’s roles in the beer industry and raise money for the Pink Boots charity which assists, inspires and encourages women beer professionals through education.

Cheryl Ford, managing director and co-founder of the brewery, said: “Women have been involved in the production and sales of beer for thousands of years, and there are so many women who are passionate and knowledgeable about the craft.

“I’m so proud to run an independent microbrewery and taking part in this year’s Pink Boots Society Collaboration event is a way to celebrate everything we’ve achieved so far.”
