EXFORD resident Jenny Winter has taken a mile-long leap into the unknown to raise thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK. Jenny took the plunge on Europe's longest zip wire, the one-mile long line at Zip World UK in Snowdonia in Wales, yesterday accompanied by her husband John and family friends. And as well as raising almost £5,000, her feat is all the more incredible as she has breast cancer and is due to have surgery next week. Jenny, 50, has already undergone chemotherapy and is booked in for a mastectomy on Monday. "I had planned to do the jump a bit later but, when they brought the operation date forward, I thought I'd do the jump earlier as well," she said. Jenny was diagnosed with breast cancer in January and has had five treatments of chemotherapy to try and shrink the tumour. "So many people get cancer and we need the research to help combat this disease and to make the treatment easier on those who have it. "I did the zipwire for Cancer Research UK because we need to combat cancer," she said. Anyone who would like to sponsor Jenny can made a donation online via the website http://www.justgiving.com/Jenny-Winter3">www.justgiving.com/Jenny-Winter3.
