THE Knights Templar Pre-school Built-it Fund in Watchet is £565 better off thanks to the efforts of local boxers.
The money was raised at a dinner and tournament staged by Watchet and Minehead Amateur Boxing Clubs at St Audries Bay Holiday Club in November.
And last week it was handed to the fund's chairman Mrs Dawn Coleman and pre-school leader Rachael Baker by Watchet ABC secretary Sharon Steele, along with boxers Jack Munro, Daniel Aspen, Robert Collins and David Entwhistle.
The tournament featured a four-course meal and eight hard-fought bouts, and the proceeds were boosted by donations and a raffle.
The fund for a pre-school building at the Knights Templar First School still has a long to go to reach its target and is hoping to win a grant from the National Lottery.
