Last Thursday Minehead A were away to Taunton in the West Somerset League and won by nine shots, picking up eight points.

The guest of honour were david Driver, immediate past president of the SCIBA, and his wife Barbara, and Rhona Perry, president of the SCWIBA, and her husband Graham.
The trophies were presented to the winners and runners-up after which those present enjoyed a buffet meal and the bar was available.
Mrs Jean Murrell presented the lady guests with flowers on behalf of the Minehead Club.

Bowlers from the sister clubs in the area were also present and received trophies for their indoor bowling.
Sunday saw the Valley Dragons from South Wales arrive to play a six-rink friendly which Minehead won by 41 shots.
C Davies, A Langdon, L Salisbury and J O'Donnell lost 19-23; P Cozens, J Freegard, H Cane and D Penfold lost 17-20; F Barrell, R Carlin, R Edwards and J Pipkin lost 19-21; R Ferris, M Roberts, M Salisbury and M Keough won 28-14; E Tapp, F Davis, A Leach and M Pipkin won 33-12; and W Everitt, E Hayes, D Stevens and W Barker won 26-13.
l After their resounding win against Minehead by 36 shots the previous Friday in the Turnbull Cup, half of Watchet`s team were in action again last Friday in the National Two Fours competition.
This time the opposition were Taunton and again it was another fine victory for Watchet by 27 shots, Taunton giving up after 20 ends.
S Hooper, W Strong, A Rendell and N Williams won 26-14; and K Bulpin, R Rendell, A Bryant and S Bruford won 32-17.
On Sunday Watchet entertained Williton in tghe Exmoor Trophy League and, as year, Williton completed the double after being seven shots down at half-time.

l Porlock scored a commanding 112-68 victory at home to South Molton last Tuesday in a mixed friendly, winning on three of the five rinks and drawing on another.

On Saturday Porlock played a six-rink mixed friendly at home to Byeways and a close match ended in a three shot win for the home side, 107-104.
